Like all our member clubs, the OYFL has to be affiliated to a County FA in order to provide organised football within Oxfordshire. This ensures we are run correctly, within FA-approved rules and have public liability insurance. In our case, we are affiliated to the Oxfordshire FA. Our member clubs are spread across Oxfordshire and surrounding counties, so we have clubs affiliated to several County FAs, usually defined by old county boundaries, e.g. most clubs in South Oxfordshire are affiliated to Berks & Bucks FA.

County FAs provide numerous services for clubs within their areas, including courses for coaches, referees and volunteers, Charter Standard support, discipline, affiliation, mentoring, county cup competitions, development.
